Deerfield is a rural community east of Madison. It was incorporated in 1891. Deerfield strives to preserve its small town heritage, historical character, and natural resources. 

Deerfield Community School District's students enjoy small class sizes, hands-on learning experiences, and many opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities.

The Glacial Drumlin State Trail, which passes through the heart of the village, offers a 52 mile trail from Cottage Grove to Waukasha. The Deerfield Chamber of Commerce is committed to making Deerfield a place where business can succeed and prosper, through networking at monthly meetings, feature members on social media and regularly scheduled events. Deerfield is known by hunters and gun enthusiasts for the Deerfield Pistol and Archery Center and the Deerfield Rod & Gun Club.
